“A shock can be many things. A shock can bring many things” for Station to Station #4

“A shock can be many things. A shock can bring many things” is a new article commissioned by DutchCulture | TransArtists for their online magazine ‘Station to Station’ edition, issue n. #4, Gamechanger (2022).

Station to Station is the online magazine of DutchCulture | TransArtists, focused on international collaboration in the field of artist-in-residencies and artistic practices. Each issue raises a current theme through guest contributions by a variety of people working in the cultural field, from residency organisers to curators, museum managers, biologists, philosophers as well as TransArtists team members.

Gamechanger is the theme of this edition: we believe that residencies can be powerful agents of change. We invited guest authors who are advocating for structural change and are all taking steps to create a more sustainable, inclusive and fair art world. They are working in and with artist-in-residencies from Argentina to Kenya, and they speak from their respective practices as researcher, artist, residency organizer, designer and curator. With Station to Station #4 they present a kaleidoscope of imaginative, thought-provoking practices.
